It’s Not a Rocket Science and Eligibility is Zero, it’s Time to Earn your Rightful Place as a Blogger or Writer!
Don’t be afraid to be labeled names
I am sick and tired of people telling you some quality sh#t and oh, to be a good blogger you got to do blah blah blah.
Don’t be afraid to share your story, your story is your unique fingerprint and could possibly be something the world is missing.
Yes, you too can become a great writer the world has ever seen. The evolution of the Internet and social media have given rise to an era of unprecedented connectivity. We can chat and speak with strangers from all walks of life. The evolution, instead of bringing us together drove us apart due to hate speech, bigotry and other damaging activities done on the internet today. While we have access to the thoughts and cultures of anyone, we can choose to simply be comfortable, seeing only what we want to see. That means anyone who disagrees with us is out or kicked out. We have zero tolerance to the different opinion other than our own. Although it is understandable that people want to be around people who share their views.
Before the Social Media
Before social media, there were fewer defenses against intrusion. First-wave social media platforms like chat rooms and forums gave you no filtering options. You are left with no choice but to interact with strangers from anywhere and everywhere. Now, you don’t even have to worry yourself with discussing in forums filled with people who hate you or whatever you stand for. Although this is not entirely so as you could still chat with someone registered with your location but totally hates your guts and your beliefs. However, you can decide via filter what country or city you chose to see or be seen in on your wall. To a reasonable extent, this is good due to politics, religion, and culture thus; we’re free from uncomfortable differences, difficult conversations and the fear of being wrong. But we’re explorers. It’s in our nature as humans to explore all terrain no matter how treacherous it seems to be, most times we may even like the new terrain.
How do you go about it?
Its quite simple and it requires nothing more than a simple decision. You alone can make that decision, so decide what to do with your life and take action. That means instead of avoiding or daydreaming “about your dream,” you’re going to have to go out of your way to seek them out. It’s going to be a very uncomfortable ride one you will constantly complain, I don’t mind a few, but you have to add that you will not allow yourself to continue to willingly drown in your own doubts. Now find and join a community of bloggers who “can’t stand beginners pestering them with questions” especially those types that are filled with ego, come now don’t chicken out on me, you have to sign up and go right in there and drop your comment. Drop something about their ego and about how you think differently about it, in fact, preach peace and social acceptance with points and reference, of course, ignore the vitriol tossed your way for all angle, people in their bubbles react violently to people trying to burst their bubbles. In your free time sit back and go through all the comments calmly, see what you can learn from it.
Day Dreaming of my Success
For example, in the late ‘19th’ century, Toni Nelson argued that some daydreams with grandiose fantasies are self-gratifying attempts at “wish fulfillment”. Still, in the 1950s, some educational psychologists warned parents not to let their children daydream, for fear that the children may be sucked into “neurosis and even psychosis”.
Psychosis is an abnormal condition of the mind that results in difficulties telling what is real and what is not. Symptoms may include false beliefs and seeing or hearing things that others do not see or hear. Other symptoms may include incoherent speech and behavior that is inappropriate for the situation. There may also be sleep problems, social withdrawal, lack of motivation, and difficulties in carrying out daily activities. Eric Klinger’s research in the 1980s showed that most daydreams are about ordinary, everyday events and help to remind us of mundane tasks. Klinger’s research also showed that over 3/4 of workers in ‘boring jobs,’ such as lifeguards and truck drivers, use vivid daydreams to “ease the boredom” of their routine tasks. It can be daunting clocking in and out at a job where your dream career is staring you in the face but you’re too busy chasing the monies, just in order to afford basic costs of living. As with everything, balance is key, eh?
Chasing Your Dreams Can Get You Motivated
Just because you have a busy schedule doesn’t mean you can’t clock into your own passion! Chasing that dream can keep you motivated to live a happier and better life. I don’t know how many people relate to this, but I sure know lots of people will agree to this even those who are not bloggers or writers. There are times, I muse over an interesting topic, I have been researching on and finally come to the conclusion of just sitting on my desk and type away. I end up doing the typing and the publishing all in my mind and even get criticized for it all in my mind. And then there are the moments when I hit a wall (daydreaming kicked in). Try as I might, I can’t come up with a distinctive angle for my post or decide what I want to say that will add something or some value to my readers or even generate a new topic to the conversation on the topic. Ok, these type of daydreaming usually ends up in me fixing myself a cup of hot chocolate coffee and switch from one social media to the next, check my email, catch up on the latest news, all within a span of twenty minutes and oh, I expect to see some sort of miraculous turnaround like seeing my post being discussed or even liked, sadly I see nothing and I feel left out. Are there some sort of spell cast on me? I wish I could ask google that question.
Passion for Writing
Fact is many of us have ended up writing and blogging for a career almost by accident. Anybody can become a writer and anybody can write a book, that is why we have different categories of book writers. With so many bloggers pursuing the same thing, and you find that too many people are writing or blogging about the same thing you are so passionate about, could mean success or the end of the road that is if you give up without trying. Having the passion for writing can also mean different things to different people, but no matter your definition, it seems people always have a reason why they can or can’t do it. If you’re someone who has always wanted to follow your dream but never gained any traction in blogging or writing, my humble advice is to keep trying and never give up.
If you can’t seem to find that story, look inward, you are a living story, tell your own story or something you’d love doing and don’t forget you’re not alone, I can’t tell you how many times I have given up blogging entirely. Many of us struggle with the fear of “ what would people think about my blog”. If you feel like you are floating in your own bubbles, don’t make it a habit of always following 5-25 years experienced writers or bloggers they will surely burst your bubbles, learn to follow and visit beginners like you, I bet that would boost your confidence. Don’t get me wrong, visiting of following age-old bloggers or writers will do you some good because you will still learn a thing or two from them. My best moments come when I decided enough is enough, I’ve got to fight the fear and just post anything, let the worse happen. And that’s when my fingers do the magic. I start to type and my thoughts flow into my keypad.
And oh I forgot to add your life is a living story and you are free to write about your life experiences. Even though I do not enjoy the luxury of a spicy glamorous life, and the fact that I am not living in a castle or flying around in private jet planes doesn’t mean I don’t have something to say about my life. Too many people have been deceived by the filtered Instagram photos of certain self-claimed celebrities, even celebrities who are living a fake life, that the real world is where things are made through sweat and blood.
Living a fake and glamorous life on Instagram is not my thing, but living large and in a real castle is definitely my dream!
We are going to try a simple example or what “matters the most”
1-Which would you prefer a – b?
One weekend you decide to host a girlfriends/guys get together
A-You make an order for an expensive “ Vegetarian/non-Vegetarian Dish” and wine and they all eat it happily and took pictures
B-or you get all the ingredient together, ushered everyone into the kitchen and have fun fixing it together, eat the food and take photographs happily.
I bet you will have more fun and pleasant memories with the latter. You see; to me, life is not complete without pleasant memories, although bad or unpleasant memories help to shape, but really who prays for a bad memory just for learning sake?
It’s like asking me to pay for a class that will get me all beaten up so bad, I think I will let that one pass. Most of you would probably agree with me that each and every one of us can simply place that order at home and get the same “dish delivered to us from some pricey restaurant” however, something will always be amiss. Now, don’t get me wrong you will definitely have fun washing down your nice treat with a glass of wine and even take photographs but it wouldn’t be the same photo if two or more friends are posing and doing something funny for the picture.
Gosh! I can’t wait to fix a get together with friends, the only problem is I will need to make new friends at the moment I am out of good friends stock. Applications are open if you wish to become my friend ok, but seriously I am always on the lookout for decent and reliable friends. Back to the topic, writing has become a promising career for most people. Some people are earning enough to stay afloat.
Bursting Those Bubbles
There are lots of people who can read perfectly well but cannot write a full sentence, don’t be shocked it is true.
Some people can’t even spell the same words they could read if asked to spell the words “Schizophrenia” or proemial.
One more thing, If you feel a little like you’re just floating in the air aimlessly, grab a shoot and start exploring uncharted course you might even write about the floating experience. Captioned: e.g. (How I Feel about My Passion) you can change that in life, career, goals et. By the way, I was meant to understand that captions are another selling point, a caption can make a curious reader click for curiosity sake and if your stories are original and neat I bet your readers would be hooked.
Learn to take a step out of your comfort zone and experience new things, don’t let life’s daily challenges get you down, I am always fighting the battles but I keep winning by not letting my pains or challenges stop me. I just won again, you are reading my post!
Financing Your Work
So how is the broke ‘amateur writer’ but full-time blogger to compete?
Two skills that will make a difference, no matter what your standard of education, is to perfect your editing and proofreading abilities.
There are no ways around it, for your article or blog to get the spotlight you must spend a little eh? Right, but not always.
What if you are so poor that you go to a public place or friends and borrow a system, type all you could without proofreading shit and just log out and walk away.
a- No-one will read your blog
b- Your blog will be seen but not read
c- Your blog will be read
OK, the answer is definitely c chances are your blog will be read but maybe not too many will return but it will still be read either way
Before we continue you must know that “Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence” ~ Vince Lombardi
The reason most blogs are read is that of curiosity and because of the catchy headlines.
SEO Is Highly Needed to Drive Traffic To Your Website
Your blog gives you the opportunity to create relevant content for your customers or readers. Use this as a marketing tactic to drive traffic back to your website. Additionally, post inbound links directly in your blog articles, to drive traffic to specific landing pages of your website. Click here to get started
Finally, Its Human To Make Mistakes
It’s human to make mistakes and I make so many mistakes and probably had a lot of misplaced or wrong spelling littered about my article, or typo errors, but that’s ok, I will simply keep editing and working on it till its perfect, this is, however, my idea of not letting anything stop me, slow or make me feel worthless, harsh words? Wait until you hear first hand how many people feel worthless in a day the figure is staggering. Gone are those days when everyone who typed without proofreading did not matter much– indeed it almost was an ‘advantage’ to not be a professional. But times have changed and many leading bloggers now employ professional writers and editors and so on.
Eye Traveling Research You Should Know
What I am still learning about and you should too. People respond to text-heavy websites with an F-Shaped Pattern of Reading on the Websites by Nielsen Norman Group. First, they look at the top-left of the website and read the first line of content text. Then, they scan the second line of text. Finally, they glance down the left column, reading a little of each line as they go.
I found the courage to do what you are reading now.
I hope this article helps you shape your dreams and get you into gear in finding your life’s purpose, I wish you good luck!
Bye for Now toodles…
